'Soutu' on äänitetty kesällä 2013 Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla sijaitsevan Kainuun maakunnan vehreässä vaaramaisemassa pienen järven rannalla.

Äänite alkaa lintujen laululla veden äärellä, käen kukkuessa kaukana lähisuon metsikössä. Ilta-auringossa heijasteleva tyven järvenpinta odottaa puurunkoisen veneen vesille laskua. Matka kohti vastarantaa alkaa rauhallisin vedoin veden liplattaessa hiljaa vasten veneen runkoa.

’Rowing’ was recorded in summer 2013 in Kainuu province of Northern Ostrobothnia, in verdant fell scenery on the beach of a small lake. The recording begins with birds singing at the shoreline, with the Cuckoo singing in the woods of a nearby swamp. The serene surface of the lake reflecting the evening sun awaits the launching of a wooden boat. The journey to the opposite shore starts with calm strokes, water rippling quietly against the hull of the boat.
